Roots

What's with the beach theme?

Sandpiper is one-part mission, one-part love letter.

We got started while riding out 2020 in our hometown: Destin, Florida.  At that time, nearly everyone we knew was reimagining life and work ...yours trulies included.

With entrepreneur heritage on both sides, we grew up working in our families' small businesses, saying "one day" we'd start companies and work with our friends.  Amidst weekly calls from the reaches of our network about how to navigate all the change, we realized "one day" had arrived.

Our time on the coast gifted us a sense of ease and wide-open possibility.  While we have a new HQ and a growing team, we carry that forward always.  Our goal is to bring the same to your experience as you interview, hire, and grow.

Decades ago, Rachel's grandad also ran a company named Sandpiper.  He built and repaired seawalls—structures that fortified homes and businesses, weathered storms, and stood the test of time.  Sandpiper Talent is both a tribute to and a student of that legacy.

Motive

What if more people loved their jobs?

Not only would we live in a world with better, cooler, nicer "stuff,"

...we'd live in a world with happier, healthier, nicer people.

A staggering majority of people are disengaged at work—more than two-thirds—to the tune of 9% global GDP in opportunity cost.  Companies with the highest levels of engagement are more than 5x as likely to beat the curve as those with the lowest. 

 

It follows us home, too.  Our working lives predict everything from our cholesterol to the quality of our friendships and even our longevity.

Engagement is more than interest or incentive.  It's a composite of satisfaction, clarity, preparedness, support, alignment, recognition, belonging, connection, impact, motivation, and growth.

It's not just a case of "good companies" vs. "bad companies" either.  Even across teams within a single company, individual managers have more influence over engagement than any other factor.

It comes down to leadership. 

Mission

Our mission is to make more, better jobs

by helping people we believe in succeed.  Innovation moves the world forward and no one acts alone.  For every product or service that makes it over the hill, there is a team of uniquely skilled individuals who gathered around and committed to it. 

 

When we help founders grow their teams and leadership, we launch ideas and communities that make the world a better place; we are multipliers.
